REACT (Research and Education Activities for Community Teachers) connects educators in NY to cutting-edge science happening at Cornell. They offer teachers the opportunity to hear graduate student talks, tour labs on Cornell’s campus, and they provide activities and materials that educators can use with your students. This year, they are inviting STEM educators who work with students in grades 7-12 to join them for our two-day event. Teachers will attend research talks and learn about classroom activities on topics such as genetics, plant biology, chemistry, and nanotechnology (see more details on the REACT website).

The event will be in a hybrid format: with a virtual day on July 14th, which is open and free to everyone, and an in-person day at Cornell on July 15th for which they can accommodate a select number of teachers. In-person participants will get a chance to tour labs at Cornell, including unique opportunities to see the Cornell Nanoscale Facility or Cornell High-Energy Synchrotron Source. For New York State teachers, participation on either day will earn CTLE credits.
